SOMS Filter Development and Validation
The SOMS filter has undergone extensive internal validation, accumulating over 1,325,000 test miles. One car has traveled over 65,000 miles without changing the oil and oil tests demonstrate that its oil has lower particle counts than new motor oil. Overall, the SOMS filter was over 8 times more efficient in removing small particles than a typical conventional filter. Throughout the use of the SOMS Filter the oil remains as clean or cleaner than new engine oil, providing excellent engine protection. The SOMS Filter has undergone SAE tests and extensive independent oil sample analyses have been conducted on vehicles using the SOMS Filter. SOMS Technologies is currently working with a variety of commercial and public vehicle fleets as part of our market testing program. The SOMS Filter provides fleet owners and operators significant costs savings as part of their overall vehicle maintenance program. The SOMS Filter is also implemented as part of ‘green fleet’ programs. SOMS Technologies has entered into a shared research contract with the New York State Energy Research & Development Authority (NYSERDA) for continued product development and testing.
